INGA KALNA AND DIĀNA KETLERE. OPENING CONCERT FOR THE ALBUM DAS ROSENBAND
Liepāja City Council
State Culture Capital Foundation
Chamber Series "Personally"
Embark on a magnificent musical trip together with the celebrated opera singer Inga Kalna and piano virtuoso Diāna Ketlere in the concert presentation of their album Das Rosenband. The album was recorded in the summer of 2020 in the recording studio of Liepāja concert hall Great Amber.
The program of songs by Richard Strauss, Alfrēds Kalniņš and Jānis Mediņš, which has been awarded the Grand Music Award, is now featured in a new music album, but the romantic concert program is also accompanied by an insight into the next project of the two artists. The program, which was created for the chamber series Personally, is brightened by romantic and nature-inspired pieces by Jean Sibelius, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.
“The whole program is very uniform in style, song names feature many flowers and nature motifs, such as black roses, the dragonfly and snow by Sibelius, daisies and lilacs by Rachmaninoff or clouds by Rimsky-Korsakov,” soprano Inga Kalna describes the atmosphere and leading theme.
The album Das Rosenband is released under the National Sound Record Company Skani, supported by the State Culture Capital Foundation and the Ministry of Culture. International release date of the album: January 15, 2021.
